Security Solutions was started by Gust Askounis in January 1989 with EXCELLENCE in mind.
His goal for our company was to offer the best sales experience and customer support in the industry. To meet this objective, we have invested heavily in our sales staff and sales tools. We feel this investment has rewarded us ten fold. We have quickly added to our line of products thus offering product solutions for most IP/CCTV Video, Fire, Access Control, or Residential Technology needs. We have developed strong and lasting relationships with our customers and built a dedicated and professional sales organization. The following outlines our strategy:
1. Employees
SSI’s sales team consists of 9 outside and 3 inside salespeople. They in turn are supported by an IT department staff of 2 and 2 additional admin personnel. We have been successful in recruiting an experienced, motivated and professional sales team. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes:

2. Focused Sales Effort
One of the toughest jobs of a sales organization is to be able to do a good job and be looked upon in a good light by all customer types. The balance in our relationships to distributors and VARs speaks for itself. They do a good job for Security Solutions because Security Solutions does a good job for them.
A. VAR calls - Nobody does it like we do. We are fully computerized for lead and sales tracking and apply a systematic and business like approach to sales calls and follow up. VAR calls are probably the single most overlooked ingredient to successful sales through distribution. Nothing strengthens your relationships with a distributor like calling in orders!
B. Leverage with the distributors - While many companies fight for shelf space and visibility, in many cases the sum of the products represented by Security Solutions represents the highest percentage of sales at the branch level. This insures visibility and support from both branch and corporate management. It also means our daily contact with the branch personnel is considerably higher than that of the standard factory sales person. This enables us to quickly and effectively build a positive and personal relationship with the branch sales people.
3. Sales Tools
A. Sales Power - How can we provide effective sales representation for such a wide range of products? With a well trained sales force of twelve people, our ratio of sales people to product lines is 1.8 to 1. What other rep organization can boast that amount of sales power per product line? During business hours, our telephones are answered by a real person! Customers don't get stuck talking to an answering machine or lost in a voice mail system. We have an experienced, technically trained staff of inside sales people who can answer most customer questions on the spot. When a customer calls us needing information for someone who is at their counter or installer who is in on the job site, they do not want to leave a message and wait for someone to return their call!
B. Dedicated to product training - We pull our entire sales staff together twice per year for an in-depth week of sales and product training. In addition to these training sessions, our inside and outside sales staff attend large industry events such as the ISC show, ASIS, CEDIA and other expos providing them with the additional in-depth training opportunities.
C. Communication - Each outside sales employee is provided with a laptop, cell phone/PDA. We have 2 T-1 lines with toll free access, as well as dedicated fax and data access. Our phone system includes voice mail which e-mails the mail box owner each time a message is left for them. This allows anyone to leave detailed messages and know the recipient will be notified immediately that there is a message waiting for them. We are never out of touch with our customers!
D. Advanced Information System - We are fully networked with software that enables us to retrieve a customer profile at the touch of a button from anywhere. Our software system allows the outside sales reps to send contact updates to the home office database and vice versa keeping both databases "live and current". Our system includes the latest mobile devices. We have broadcast e-mail capability allowing us to send product updates and newsletters to thousands of customers quickly and cost effectively. We can compile lists for promotional mailings or telemarketing for any group of customers almost effortlessly. We have virtually unlimited "notes" capability to allow us to include as much detail as necessary to effectively service our customers.
